Cipolla figs can often have a squat shape, but the length of the neck can also depend upon growing conditions. The figs have a red pulp that can drip red honey when ripe. The texture is jammy with a slight seed crunch. Cipolla has an exotic flavor that has been compared to Black Madeira. Some people taste hints of guava or papaya.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCipolla comes from Pomona Gardens, a conservatory of rare fruit trees under the care of Paolo Belloni. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e**All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout.  Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October\/November) will ship out first in November\/December.  If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them.  They will be perfectly fine.
